my collection of replica bugs
a small overview of the various fake bugs i own and where i got them from! i like documenting things and making lists sometimes so why not make it into a simple zine.
made for decker fantasy camp 2026 using the hybrid decker zine template by millie millenium.

Stag Beetle Squishy.... it's so soft and round looking. But also this is a lovely collection of bugs.
there's nothing more charming than one's niche collection. maybe not bug-like enough to fit in, but you might find the kitan club spider cats charming!! hoping you find your white whale in the sequel!

Just some of the reasons I enjoyed reading this:
--niche subject
--teaches you something new (didn't occur to me before that ppl could collect replica insects, and that there are gacha insects!!! I will not buy them! I will...not...)
--interesting visuals (not to be all like "excellent use of negative space 🤓" but it has a very clean presentation, tidy and organized, while also having good artistic representations of the bugs, and nice touches like the page borders.
--a sense of self-expression, of being very much the expression of a specific individual.
wow thanks for taking the time to engage with my zine like this! i didnt really expect this kind of response, so its cool to see how others view my work :) gacha insects are very easy to get into but (un)lucky for me they're relatively uncommon in my city so i don't feel compelled to spend too frequently lol
